Manila to Dubai Business Class: Reviewing my Experience

Emirates Business Class, Emirates, Business Class, Pat Herb

It was a day of firsts for me as I flew with Emirates’ Business Class. It was my first time flying with Emirates and it was my first time experiencing business class period. Here’s what to expect should you fly + videos to see what I experienced!

In a word, flying for 8 hours with Emirates’ Business Class is simply ✨ luxurious ✨ There’s a lot to be said about the experience but I’ll break it down to three simple parts: The Lounge Access, The Seat, and the Food.

The Marhaba Lounge

Buy booking business class, you have access to the Marhaba Lounge at NAIA 3. The big benefit of the lounge is having a comfortable place to sit pre-flight, since waiting areas in Manila are usually stuffy and noisy. The lounge also offers a lovely buffet that has free-flowing drinks (from coffee to alcohol) and light and heavy fares for any appetite. I had the tuna cups, some tiramisu, and a coffee. I didn’t eat much because I knew the flight itself would have a ton of food.

The Food

IMPECCABLE. Nothing is more luxurious than having a meal 40,000 feet off the ground on fine glassware, metal cutlery, and free-flowing drinks. On the Manila-Dubai flight, we got served breakfast and lunch and it was absolutely divine! Catch my video reviews for the whole experience 💖

The Seats

The seating arrangement is a 2-3-2, making privacy a bit of an issue should you be flying alone. While there are dividers and the chairs themselves look like pods, I think leaving your pod and crossing over the person next to you would be a hassle should they recline their seat fully down. But if we focused on the chair, these chairs are simply a delight! They recline all the way down should you want to grab some zzzs before landing... but would you really snooze on a business class flight? More on the seats on this video!

PERKS of Business Class with Emirates that I personally appreciated

  • No Lines at check-in and Priority Boarding - totally helpful, the line in NAIA was CRAZY. Business class was a breeze because we had priority.

  • More luggage space (40KG of free luggage) - very useful since Tom and I are moving most of our stuff from the Philippines to the UK.

  • The most comfortable seats ever - greatly appreciated and super comfy!

  • Buffet in the sky treatment - I will never forget it! Just such a wonderful experience!

Would I recommend flying Business Class to a friend? Definitely, especially to travelers with discerning tastes. Also, I'd only recommend it for long-haul flights and if you can purchase it with points/miles on your card. The price difference is heavy and it's easy to consider just spending that money on your destination. However, I would recommend at least trying it once.
